Albany Oregon

Woke up to gorgeous sunshine so headed off on a stroll to breakfast! We landed at Brick & Mortar Cafe and had some great Bloody Mary's and great breakfast!
I'm totally digging the Huevos Rancheros trend I've been on and Barry's been loving the different Eggs Benedicts. Right outside the restaurant was our morning geocache so we strolled on to an even more amazing adventure! The Albany Carousel is way more than a simple carousel!
The doors all have special brass handles...
And the carousel is absolutely stunning!
So much detail and whimsey in every single animal! Then we found out why... they are all hand carved by volunteers in the basement! These are not just any volunteers, they are definitely master craftsmen!
Also down stairs is the museum where we learned all about carousel history!
Back upstairs we found the painting room! Amazed is an understatement!
After making all sorts of new friends and being invited back to try my hand at carving by Jack, the master carver we headed back to our little oasis! A little detour through the pet store scored me the cutest pet purse ever!!
The van was filthy so we stopped on our way to Sisters Oregon and gave her a good scrub!

Today was our longest drive day so far, a whole 2 hours and 15 minutes so good thing there were things like a distillery and snow to stop and distract us!!
Finished our journey for the day with dinner at Sisters Saloon & Grill then retiring to the camp ground.
Says there's a winter storm expected... this should be fun!! Cheers to BC Life!
